Boasting a throughput rate exceeding 180 t/h, the 046-S double-shaft mixer has one of the largest capacities in the Talleres Felipe Verdés portfolio. The 046-S unit is an open double-shaft mixer featuring a one-piece trough and equipped with replaceable shaft, with liners protecting all parts directly in contact with the clay against wear.

All Verdés mixers are specially designed to ensure complete and uniform mixing and homogenization of the raw materials in every step of the preparation or shaping process. The mixer knives are specially designed to allow different degrees of orientation in the mixing process depending on customer requirements. These knives can be easily replaced, without any need to remove the mixer shaft. This facilitates maintenance, reducing both downtime and production costs.

As a strategic unit in the clay brick and tile manufacturing process, Verdés mixers are suitable for installation at any preparation and/or shaping station and can be adapted to meet the specific requirements of the different raw materials, additives and recycled off-cuts.

Verdés mixers in operation worldwide

On December 2010 Verdés supplied one 046-S unit to the Algerian company S.A.R.L. Briqueterie Boukhanoufa. For this project, the mixer is equipped with a 132-kW motor that enables a production rate of 180 t/h and ensures a high production standard. At the clay preparation station, clay body is prepared for the production of 1 000 t fired product per day, feeding two parallel operating shaping lines.

Other machines of this type have been previously commissioned in brick plants around the world, e.g. in Spain, Mexico, the USA and South Africa.
