Schlagmann Poroton emplaces energy management system in line with ISO 50001

Schlagmann Poroton, headquartered in Zeilarn, has successfully introduced an energy management system pursuant to the internationally applicable standard specification ISO 50001 for all its production locations. In late August, before an invited audience of 500, the company received the relevant certification document from Bavaria‘s economics minister Martin Zeil. That makes Schlagmann Poroton one of the first clay brick producers in Germany to have a certified energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001.

Since early 2010, for all four plants, Schlagmann has been purchasing exclusively “green” hydropower and complementing it with its own photovoltaic electricity. In addition, Schlagmann has been in possession of the respective environmental product declaration (EPD) certificate since mid-2011.
