Reconstruction of a brickworks – the example of “Gubskij kirpich”

This article describes the reconstruction measures implemented at the “Gubskij kirpich” brickworks. These involved modifications to the tunnel kiln and the renewal of the wet side and the kiln car loading installation.

1 Introduction

The “Gubskij kirpich” brickworks, located at Stanica Gubs­kaya, was erected in 1996 by the Austrian company ­Vogel & Nooth for Norilsk Nickel. It was designed for an annual output of 30 mill. Russian standard bricks measuring 250 x 120 x 65 mm.

A special feature of this plant is the ITO system with the wet bricks being set directly on the tunnel kiln cars in a direct setting mode. The kiln is positioned above the dryer.
