Händle celebrates 140 years of plant and machinery from Mühlacker

The richly traditioned company Händle GmbH Maschinen und Anlagenbau will be celebrating three anniversaries this year: the company’s 140th “birthday”, 120 years of Händle-built extruders, and 10 full years of J. C. Steele involvement. We spoke with Managing Director Gerhard Fischer and Business Unit Service Manager Dietmar Heintel about the latest goings-on at Händle’s. Exclusively for Zi, Gerhard Fischer outlined Händle’s new strategy of offering, as of immediately, multiple presses for high-end roof tiles.

Zi: Mr. Fischer, now that you have been managing director of Händle GmbH Maschinen und Anlagenbau for a year and a half now, in the course of which you shouldered the responsibility during the worst economic crisis we‘ve all seen in ages, please tell us how badly Händle was hit by it.


G. F.: Well, a lot has happened since we last met in 2007. During 2007/2008, we were riding high at the apex of a global boom and having to contend with enormously long delivery times for certain bought-in parts.
