In the beginning of this year Lingl successfully completed the hand-over of the new Measham plant to Hanson Building Products PLC. This facility is one of the most technically advanced and efficient brick production facilities in Europe if not the world.
1 Introduction
With this new brick plant Hanson PLC, owned by the Heidelberg Cement Group, replaced a number of out-of-date factories which were closed with the commissioning of this new facility. Apart from the demand for a higher output this new project was realized with the objective of achieving an essential reduction of operating costs.
With an output of over 2 mill. bricks per week (which is equivalent to over 650 tonnes per day) in single-shift operation and with only 30 total personnel, this facility truly sets new benchmarks.
