This year’s general assembly took place in brilliant sunshine on the “Island of the Gods”. The Cyprus Ceramic Association, as one of the new TBE members, had organized a very successful event. Dr Heimo Scheuch was re-elected as President of the TBE. In addition to discussing the items on the conference agenda, the more than 70 attendees from 16 countries had ample opportunity for talks. A tour of the modern “Kakoyiannis” was also included in the programme.
1 General assembly
In his guest lecture, Dr Costas Papastavros, a consultant on environmental law, Cyprus, highlighted the importance of Cyprus in the efforts concerning carbon leakage classification of the European clay brick and tile industry and provided an overview of the work already done.
TBE President Dr Heimo Scheuch then opened the meeting by thanking the hosts, the Cyprus Ceramic Association and its members, for their continuous support. He went on to review the achievements since the last general assembly, which include the carbon leakage status and the lobby actions for the...
