Cooling system for cleaning trimming blades

Bongioanni Stampi blows … cold

To solve a widely known problem, Bongioanni Stampi has developed a cooling system for cleaning the trimming blades in clay roofing tile presses. During pressing, clay sticks to the blades, which gradually become caked in dry clay. This impairs the quality of the cut on the edges of the roofing tile. Therefore frequent production stops are necessary for manual cleaning of the blades so as to manufacture products with precise contours. This system can be applied on every press type.

Bongioanni Stampi’s solution is a cooling circuit integrated to the blades, where a chiller effects constant liquid circulation at a temperature near to 0° C. The temperature difference between the blades and the roofing tile leads to the formation of a condensation film that prevents clay sticking on the blades.

Bongioanni Stampi offers the customers the use of a test chiller, which can be mounted to existing trimming blades for test purposes. This way, the customer can get his own idea of how efficiently the system works.

Besides achieving a better cut, the advantage in the use of this system is that the tile edges are not contaminated with the lubricants used otherwise, which may mark the product and result in a different colour after engobing, etc.

The stability of the product quality is assured by a constant fluid circulation at the temperature chosen by the user and it is kept constant by the chiller.
