Converting prefab masoning units from mortar to adhesives

Due to the fact that demand for cemented masonry has been expanding in recent years, Rimatem GmbH, as a producer of prefab masonry units, has engineered a new adhesive applicator for perfectly cementing all kinds of clay masonry units – including vertically perforated bricks and blocks.

The new application system is modular, and all masoning-unit generations from HA III (i.e., built in 1998 and later) can be easily converted for using adhesives instead of mortar. Considering that the HA IV can be converted from one technique to the other in just a few minutes‘ time, the user can practically employ both methods at once. All the conversion involves is to dismount one applicator and replace it with the other – the machine takes over from there. Everything is fully automated, from extracting the material from the silo to mixing the adhesive or mortar and, finally, loading it into the applicator.

Any arbitrary adhesive can be used for normal cementing. For the full-face option, such as in the case of vertically perforated bricks/blocks, however, the adhesive agent must exhibit certain properties. Rimatem specialists are happy to help users select and adjust the most appropriate agent.
