Equipceramic installs new equipment for firing glazed products at Novaceramic

The business relationship between Equipceramic, S.A. and Ceranor, one of the most important manufacturers of heavy clay products in Spain, goes back many years and has always been driven by the pursuit of excellence.

Equipceramic, S.A. has now designed a new project to upgrade the installations at Novaceramic, Ceranor’s subsidiary in Mexico.

The new equipment has been installed in a building attached to the current factory and it consists of a pre-kiln and a Gaudí kiln for firing glazed facing bricks along with all required mechanisms for kiln car handling.

The newly installed equipment will enable the double- and single-firing of glazed units depending on the type of product to be manufactured, thus obtaining significant energy savings and a higher added-value of finished products.

The design of the installation and particularly of the Gaudí kiln incorporates all requirements for firing glazed bricks, such as:

A low setting height and density of bricks on kiln cars

The setting arrangement enables glazing of the bricks on four faces

Very similar setting patterns for the different types of products, in order not to alter the glazing treatment

Kiln circuits with enough flexibility to quickly adapt the kiln operation to the different products to be manufactured

Kiln lining and insulation for firing at high temperatures up to 1200° C

Connection of kiln cars and products with the attached halls comprised in the plant

Moreover, this new equipment has already been prepared for the installation of new glazing and product handling units in the future, which will contribute to simplifying the operation of the plant and will bring additional product quality and profitability.
