Poroton block factory in Ehingen continued by Schlagmann
Wienerberger GmbH, Hanover, and Schlagmann Poroton GmbH & Co. KG, Zeilarn, have agreed that with effect from 1 January 2014 Schlagmann will continue operations at the Poroton clay block factory in Swabia and the associated sales area.
All 23 employees from production, warehousing, administration and sales will be taken over. Wienerberger holds a 50-% stake in Schlagmann and has therefore been closely associated with the Bavarian market leader for over 20 years. The two companies are members of the German Association of Poroton Block Producers.
The plant’s geographical proximity and closely related sales area to Schlagmann was the crucial reason for this joint decision. The Ehingen base plays an important role in the market in Baden-Württemberg. It is here that work on the market will focus in future.
The two companies stress that this decision will increase their impact, allowing them to place high-quality Poroton blocks in the prosperous markets of Southern Germany and rival their competitors there. The technical know-how as well as the services offered by Schlagmann underpin this expectation.
