The entries in question must have already undergone industrial trials and/or be in industrial use as well as being highly innovative in terms of their technological and economic benefits in actual implementation. The submission deadline is 23 February 2018. Hermes Award (Hannover Messe)

Hermes Award (Hannover Messe)
The Hermes Award is given annually by Deutsche Messe during the run-up to Hannover Messe, and is endowed with a PR package valued at a total of approximately € 100000. The winner of the Hermes Award is selected by an independent jury chaired by Dr. Wolfgang Wahlster, Director and Executive Chairperson of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). All of the companies nominated for the award will be introduced at the Hannover Messe 2018 Opening Ceremony on 22 April 2018, and will also be featured at a special display within the Research & Technology fair in Hall 2 at Hannover Messe, which runs from 23 to 27 April 2018.
At the most recent Hannover Messe in 2017, the Hermes Award went to Schunk GmbH & Co. KG for its JL1 gripper – an intelligent gripper module for human-robot collaboration that directly interacts and communicates with humans. The sensor technology built into the JL1 recognizes approaching humans and enables a situation-dependent reaction, triggering evasive action to avoid any direct human/machine contact.

Hannover Messe – Get new technology first!
The world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology will next be staged from 23 to 27 April 2018 in Hanover/Germany. With its core focus on “Integrated Industry” and “Integrated Energy”, the upcoming Hannover Messe will feature five parallel shows: IAMD: Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives, Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply and Research & Technology – all reflecting the digitization of production and energy systems. The event will be co-located with CeMAT, the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management. Mexico will star as the Partner Country of Hannover Messe 2018.
