Change of leadership in the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group finished

On 1 January 2023, Dr Christoph Riemer took over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zschimmer & Schwarz Chemie GmbH, a global supplier of chemical auxiliaries. Together with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dietmar Clausen and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr. Felix Grimm, he will determine the future course of the globally operating group of companies for successful business development. Zschimmer & Schwarz thus successfully completes the change in leadership at the top of the company.

Dr. Martin Haberl, previously Managing Director for Sales and Marketing, left the management on 31 December 2022. With his many years of experience, he will continue to be available to Zschimmer & Schwarz in an advisory capacity until probably mid-2023, before retiring. The previous technical managing director Wolfgang Nowak has left the company at his own request at the same time to take on new professional challenges.

Dr Christoph Riemer was appointed to the management board by the advisory board of the family-owned company on 1 August 2022. He has many years of experience in the chemical industry, having held positions at Süd-Chemie, McKinsey and Wacker Chemie. Most recently, he was Vice President of Wacker Chemie’s polymer business in Europe and the Middle East.

Dr Felix Grimm assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer on 1 November 2022. In this role, he is responsible for the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group’s production, supply chain, purchasing and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) divisions at global level. He held various management positions in the areas of production and technology at Clariant AG in Germany, France and Switzerland for many years.

“With Wolfgang Nowak, Dr. Martin Haberl and Dietmar Clausen at the helm of the tradition-steeped family business, Zschimmer & Schwarz has grown strongly, opened up new sales markets and developed into a globally active supplier of chemical specialities and auxiliaries,” says Dr. Bernd Reckmann, Chairman of the Advisory Board, in praise of the achievements of the previous management. At the same time, he emphasises the management expertise of Dr Christoph Riemer: “Dr Christoph Riemer is the ideal choice to drive the further development of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group.”

The Zschimmer & Schwarz group of companies includes 28 companies in 16 countries on five continents. Products include tailor-made chemical auxiliaries for the leather, fur, ceramics, textile and man-made fibre industries as well as for the production of cleaning agents, personal care products, paints and coatings, lubricants and for industrial applications.
