Proven management team with familiar reinforcement: Wienerberger Germany reorganises its management team
According to a press release, Wienerberger Germany has reorganised its management team as of 1 February 2026: Johan van der Biest, who was previously responsible for Germany and is currently COO for the Western Region, will also take on the role of Managing Director and Spokesperson for the Management Board of Wienerberger Germany. Together with Florian Scherr and Burkhard Theuerkauf, who will also be appointed managing directors, and Ronald Ottensammer, who will remain managing director, Wienerberger is relying on a proven and experienced management team, according to the company. The operational management team will be completed by Florian Tiefenbacher (Director of Supply Chain) and Stefanie Paufler (Director of HR & Legal). Reinhard Schwabe is stepping down from the management board at his own request on 31 January 2026.
“For our partners in the trade and retail sectors, this constellation means above all continuity and reliability: the stable management structure ensures predictable cooperation and proven processes,” explains Wienerberger regarding these personnel decisions. The company adds: “The bundling of central functions also ensures short communication channels and coordinated solutions: In addition to sales and product management, Florian Scherr will also be responsible for marketing and communications and the PV organisation Wevolt Germany in the future.”
Florian Scherr, Commercial Director, explains the goals of the new management team as follows: “Our aim at Wienerberger is to be a reliable partner for our customers, especially in a challenging market environment, and to actively shape the future of construction. In the roofing sector, we are focusing on innovative accessory solutions, strengthening our commitment to historic preservation and driving forward the development of intelligent photovoltaic solutions with Wevolt, our solar specialist – always with the aim of offering the highest level of quality and service. With our newly structured Facade Solutions division, we are bundling our expertise in rear-ventilated curtain walls and offering architects and fabricators tailor-made solutions from a single source. In the backing wall sector, we are driving forward digitalisation and efficiency on the construction site with the WLTR masonry robot. Our new drone service for roof and facade measurement exemplifies our commitment to creating real added value through digital services. This is how we are realising our vision: we design living spaces that are not only built, but also lived in – simply, directly and connected.“
