Braer Brickworks in Tula produces with state-of-the-art equipment

Together with its sister companies morando and Rieter, Keller HCW has set up one of the most modern brickworks for the Braer Group in Obidimo, a suburb of the central Russian industrial town of Tula. Thanks to the high flexibility of the efficient production plant, the complete range of ceramic building materials according to GOST 530-2007 can now be produced.

1 Introduction

The town of Tula is located approx. 200 km south of Moscow and has a long and colourful history. It was mentioned for the first time in 1146, making it older than Moscow, the Russian capital. Over the centuries numerous industries have been established in the city. Besides the arms factory, which was founded in 1712, Tula, which has a population of 500 000, is known far beyond Russia’s borders for two exports in particular: the samovar, the epitome of Russian tea culture and Prjaniki, the sweet gingerbread made in Tula.
