ECTS Symposium in Kolkata, India

Thirteen European manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the heavy clay industry will present their technologies at a symposium to be held on 24 February 2014 at the Taj Bengal Hotel in Kolkata. The event is co-organized by the office of the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and will attract local brickmakers. Focus of the event is the energy-efficient production of high-quality clay bricks and tiles.

ECTS members regard themselves as leading providers of technology for the heavy clay industry and will present themselves at the symposium as partners for the Indian manufacturers. Clay brick is one of the most popular building materials in India. But other building materials are becoming increasingly attractive to customers. So as not to lose ground to alternative building materials, technology suppliers and their customers have to work hand in hand to foster and develop improved products. The event will serve as a platform to discuss these requirements and the challenges local brickmakers are facing. In India too, the quality of the finished products is playing an increasingly important role. The following companies will present their technologies:

› Beralmar Technologic, Spain
› Bernini Impianti, Italy
› Bongioanni Macchine, Italy
› Ceratec, Belgium
› Ceric, France
› De Boer/Damle, Netherlands
› Elster Kromschröder, Germany
› Forgestal, Spain
› Händle, Germany
› Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich, Germany
› Refratechnik Ceramics, Germany
› Talleres Felipe Verdés, Spain
› Tecnofiliere, Italy

Most of these companies are already familiar with the Indian market and its particular needs and challenges. After a successful road show in 2011 with workshops in Chandigarh and Varanasi and a symposium held in 2012 in Bangalore, this is the third consecutive visit of an ECTS delegation to India.
