Matthias Schönle – new President of the Swiss Brick and Tile Plant Managers’ Association (SBZS)

After lunching together, the group of attendees explored the old town in a lansquenet-guided tour. Besides listening to many amusing and interesting anecdotes, the attendees enjoyed tasting local specialities, such as Emmer bread and Hallau red wine. Following the tour, there was ample time to look around the town itself or to walk to the Munot circular fortress and enjoy the view over Schaffhausen.

After a brief get-together with a view of the roaring Rhine Falls, next on the agenda was the general meeting, during which, besides the admission of new members, a new Board was elected. As the president had resigned from office for professional reasons after six months and the general secretary announced his resignation after 14 years in office, these offices had to be filled. Matthias Schönle was elected as President and Carsten Weber to the Board, which is now composed as follows: President Matthias Schönle, Vice-President and Archivist David Hartmann, Treasurer Jürg Läderach, Board Member 1 Simon Jordi and Board Member 2 Carsten Weber. To complete the SBZS Board, another member is still being sought.

After their successful meeting, the attendees enjoyed an excellent dinner in Wörth Castle, with a direct view of the Rhine Falls.

The next general meeting will take place on 25/26 May 2018.
