Merger strengthens well-known brands Rieter and Morando

In December 2018, Keller HCW GmbH transferred its “clay preparation and shaping” business to the new company Rieter Morando GmbH, located in Constance, where the headquarters of the historical Rieter Werke were located. Parallel to this, the Italian company Morando S.r.l., Asti, changed its name to Rieter Morando S.r.l. The new Rieter Morando unit is part of the European Group Legris Industries.

With the merger of the two significant brands, Rieter and Morando, their position is to be strengthened as a world leading supplier of clay preparation and shaping equipment, service and spare parts. Rieter Morando has installed up to 7 000 machines in 74 different countries and has over 90 models in its portfolio. The joint team now is even stronger thanks to the focussed combination of know-how and skills in clay brick and roofing tile manufacturing technologies. The company will focus more strongly on innovation, customer proximity and service support, to secure an outstanding position on the market. Rieter Morando plans to pursue independent growth in its relevant core-business segment as a high-performing entity, doing business with the operating acumen and culture to thrive and create employment opportunities while continuing to provide customers with high quality and differentiated solutions, products and services.

The acquired autonomy of Rieter Morando allows better and clearer structuring of the decision processes. The Constance site will be developed as a leading competence centre for service, maintenance and spare parts, providing long-term and reliable support to all the customers who know and appreciate the Rieter brand. The Asti site will strengthen the focus on research and development and smart technology solutions for industrial production, keeping the proximity to all factories equipped with Morando and Rieter machines. Together they will develop a clear long-term strategy for Rieter Morando.

Rieter Morando will implement its strategic priorities in a highly energized way, to continue its successful development and create sustainable value. Relying on the skills of its joint teams, Rieter Morando will expand service offerings and models across all business areas. This will include consultancy and technical advice for its industrial customers, as well as digital service offerings, leveraging industry 4.0 projects. In order to support its growth ambition, Rieter Morando will increase its investments in research and development. The flexibility of the organization and smart processes will ensure fast time-to-market. Improved customer focus will also foster adaptability, anticipating market needs and leading to new application segments.

The Rieter Morando global team is ready and committed to take this opportunity to shape a new evolving future.
