Röben subsidiary Triangle Brick

Now fourth largest brick manufacturer in the USA

Following the start-up of its latest brickworks “Clay County” in Henrietta, Texas, the Röben subsidiary Triangle Brick reports that it now ranks fourth in the American clay brick and tile industry. From its five state-of-the-art brick plants, the company supplies customers in more than 30 US states – from North and South Carolina over the entire East Coast, Mid-West and South-West down to Texas. The Triangle Brick Company, headquartered in in Durham/North Carolina, has been part of the Röben Group, based in Zetel, Germany, since 1979.

At the beginning of March, Röben’s Managing Director Wilhelm-Renke Röben welcomed around 200 business partners and friends of Triangle Brick Company to a reception held during the trade fair and exclusive industry gathering “Brick Forum” organized by the US Brick Industry Association in Charlotte, North Carolina. The “Brick Forum” is a showcase for the American clay brick industry. Around 1000 participants, predominantly brick distributors and architects, use this industry gathering to find out about the latest developments at the exhibition, various talks and receptions.

Wilhelm-Renke Röben: “The new products from our newly opened Clay County brick plant in Texas have proven very popular and are meeting with general optimism in the industry. Newbuild construction in the USA is really picking up again.”

German market remains in focus

The Röben Group’s focus remains Germany, the company runs seven production facilities there and invested in its production plants last year, too. In the Bannberscheid plant, a new unloading unit was installed, the Schweinebrück fine stoneware plant received a new digital printer to enable it to provide customers with even more creative surface designs.

Röben is very satisfied with the business year 2015/2016 (1 July 2015–30 June 2016) in Germany. “The low interest rates and the generally good economic development have boosted the housing market”, Röben reports. “We are also seeing bricks experiencing a renaissance at the present time.”
