Retrofitting hot air circulators in existing tunnel kilns – experience from the field

Hot air circulation systems are standard equipment in new tunnel kilns built today as they bring both process and energy advantages. To allow existing kilns to profit from the benefits, Keratek has developed a series of circulation systems for various temperature ranges and installed them in customer facilities.

In the talk, the special aspects of retrofitting are discussed and a report given on field experience in operating kilns. The focus is on improvements achieved in the temperature distribution in the setting, the influence on the energy consumption and the necessary modifications to kiln...
