Mourning for Ernst August Bäumer

The Federal Association of the German Brick and Tile Industry mourns the death of its Honorary President Ernst August Bäumer, who passed away on 14 December 2022 at the age of 100.

For two decades, from 1971 to 1991, Ernst August Bäumer was President of the Federal Association of the German Brick and Tile Industry e.V. For many years he was Vice-President of the Federal Association of Building Materials Stones + Soil e.V. and, as former President of the Federation of European Brick and Tile Associations (TBE), he was also a member on the TBE Board from 1982 to 1985. The unity of our industry and the resulting strong poise was Ernst August Bäumer's great personal concern. To him it was a social duty and obligation as well. Ernst August Bäumer was also awarded with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ernst August Bäumer was held in high esteem among brick and tile producers. For many years he worked for the interests of our industry and decisively shaped it through his outstanding commitment. With him, we have lost an esteemed person and advisor to whom our associations owe a great deal. We will honour his memory. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family.

The Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, 22 December 2022, at 2 p.m. in the High Cathedral of Osnabrück. The funeral will take place at a later date in the closest family circle.
