04.06.2009 News: Charles-Antoine de Barbuat heads European Suppliers to the Ceramics Industry (ECTS)

The members of the Working Group European Ceramic Technology Suppliers (ECTS) elected Charles-Antoine de Barbuat, CEO of Keyria S.A. Paris as their new chairman at its membership meeting in Monforte d’Alba/Italy, held recently. Mr. de Barbuat will take over from Mr. Jean-Jacques Wagner who had held this post since November 2007 and left the board by the end of last year.

Members also voted Luca Caramelli, CEO of Bongioanni Macchine SpA, Fossano/Italy to the Board. In addition the new board also includes Mr. Vicente Romeo, Commerical Director of Talleres Felipe Verdés SA., Vilanova del Camí/Spain and Mr. Paul Eirich, Managing Partner of Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich GmbH & Co KG, Hardheim/Germany.

The ECTS working group was founded in 2004 by 12 European suppliers to the ceramics industry. Today it counts 22 members, mainly representatives of leading technology suppliers from Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Luxemburg and the U.K. Group meetings take place twice a year on the invitation of member companies and have become a meeting point of entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. Apart from the exchange of information and ideas, participants mainly aim at joining their forces and paving the way for joint initiatives and activities. Their goal is to further strengthen the position and the competitiveness of the European ceramic technology suppliers on the world market.

ECTS – official partner of Ceramitec

ECTS will be official partner of Ceramitec, the international trade fair for machinery, equipment, processes and raw material for the ceramics and powder metallurgy industry which will take place in Munich from October 20th to 23rd 2009. The group will present joint initiatives at Ceramitec like for example a special exhibition on energy and cost efficiency. The next ECTS group meeting will also be held at this occasion on October 19th, 2009 in Munich.

ECTS is now also supporting the campaign “Choose the Original – Choose Success”, which was launched by VDMA, the German Engineering Federation. The campaign makes obvious that it is in the very interest of every buyer to invest in original technology. Original parts tend to be more expensive as they are the result of enormous research and development know-how. But whoever buys original technology makes a clear statement as regards quality, innovation, efficiency, experience and safety. And this is what pays off in every deal in the long-run.
