Ceram Becomes Notified Body under the Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU-CPR)

Ceram, the international materials technology company, is pleased to announce that they have been designated as a Notified Body under the Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU-CPR).

On 01 July 2013, the Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU-CPR) replaced the existing Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC-CDP). Under the Construction Products Regulation, it is now mandatory for manufacturers to apply CE marking to any of their construction products covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) or product specific European Technical Assessment (ETA).

Following on from being a Notified Body under the CPD, Ceram will continue to perform testing to attestation level 3 as a Notified Body for the CE marking of construction products under the CPR.

Dr Stephen Morrey, Manager Quality Assurance & IP, Ceram says:
“In order to continue providing clients with the same level of testing service, it was very important to transfer our designation as a Notified Body from the CPD to the CPR before 01 July.
“We are delighted to have been in the first wave of companies designated as a Notified Body under the CPR.”

Ceram’s new schedule is available from the Nando (New Approach Notified and Designated Organisations) website: http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/newapproach/nando/.
