Leipfinger-Bader inaugurates plant for high-precision clay units

On 27 July, Ziegelwerke Leipfinger-Bader inaugurated its new plant, which is equipped with robot technology, at the brickworks’ main facility in Vatersdorf. The new plant was installed with the aim of meeting the rising demand for high-precision clay units. Up to now, only clay blocks were manufactured in Vatersdorf while high-precision blocks were produced exclusively at the Puttenhausen site. With this plant working to full capacity to meet the steep increase in demand, the decision was taken to invest in the Vatersdorf plant. The new plant achieves a high degree of energy efficiency and quality: it has been equipped, for example, with energy-saving motors and frequency controllers. Smooth-running guide devices with toothed belts were installed and the moving equipment engineered in lightweight aluminium. Overall these measures lead to an energy saving of over 30% compared with existing plants.
