First kiln car with fired products at Yamama’s new plant
Yamama Bricks and Clay Products set up its first brick plant in the 1970s. Today, it operates five plants that produce a wide range of non-load-bearing and load-bearing clay blocks, perforated blocks, clay pavers and roofing tiles. Thanks to its quality standards, the company is now one of the leading producers of clay building materials in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and in the Middle East.
The key features of the new project are:
covered area: 18 000 m²
production capacity: 700 t/day saleable products
product range: hollow blocks, load-bearing blocks, hourdis blocks, facing bricks and clay pavers
The technical equipment comprises:
double cutting line
setting robot, dehacking and packaging units
EQC hyperventilated dryer with high energy efficiency and optimum cycle
high-thermal-insulation tunnel kiln
state-of-the-art software package for process control and traceability
Commissioning of the plant began in May, the kiln was fired up on 17 May and the first car with fired products came out of the kiln on 26 May.
The plant is now successfully producing clay blocks. The next steps in commissioning comprise further tests for the production of all other types of products included in the wide portfolio of products to be produced in this multiproduct plant.
The successful collaboration and the know-how of the teams of both companies were the key pillars for the success of the project.
