Sacmi-Cosmec commissions fourth line for Ceramica del Norte
Ceramica del Norte, based in Salta in north-west Argentina and capital of the province of the same name, is one of the largest brick manufacturers in the South American country.
Three years ago, Sacmi Heavy Clay supplied the brick manufacturer with equipment for a new production line for hollow bricks, load-bearing bricks and loft/floor bricks. Ceramica del Norte then contracted Sacmi-Cosmec with the installation of a fourth production unit.
Supplied and installed in a very short time, the plant was tested successfully and production started at the beginning of this year. The significant added value of this latest contract is in the synergy with Cosmec – a company acquired by Sacmi two years ago, which has forty years of experience in products handling for the heavy clay industry. As in the previous plant, the new production line is equipped with everything it needs to guarantee high levels of process automation from the cutting phase to the unloading of the fired product.
The order for the fifth production unit, recently placed by Ceramica del Norte, goes to confirm the customer’s satisfaction and reinforced confidence in the Sacmi Group. This new delivery is now being shipped. The South American company Ceramica del Norte will further consolidate its position as a leading brick manufacturer on the domestic market.
