Appraisal of ceramic-technological properties in raw materials mineralogy

This contribution describes the material aspect of the mineral phase composition and its effects on the ceramic­-technological properties of silicate-ceramic compositions and bodies.

The relevant causalities are illustrated by way of practical examples stemming from some 10 years of laboratory experience. The investigations covered not only diverse varieties of raw materials within the same group, e.g., tertiary clay from a single deposit, but body compositions as well.
