11.08.2010 News: Eisenmann takes over Haden India

German plant manufacturer prepares for major projects on the booming Indian market

By taking over Haden India Pvt. Ltd. from the North American industrial maintenance company MacLellan, German plant manufacturer Eisenmann has at one stroke greatly increased its market presence in India. Haden India, which has three locations in that country, will trade in future as Eisenmann Surface Finishing Systems India Pvt. Ltd. The new German parent company entered the Indian market in June 2010 by establishing Eisenmann India Pvt. Ltd in Chennai. The company will from now on have four locations, in the Indian business centers of Chennai, Mumbai (Thane), Pune and Delhi.

Dr. Matthias von Krauland, Spokesman for the Eisenmann AG Board of Management, comments: “Acquiring Haden India gives us overnight, so to speak, some fifty highly qualified employees with many years of painting-trade experience in India and whose activities therefore coincide with large sections of our own portfolio. This will speed up our access to the market and put us in a position to process major projects for our customers.” The company is taking on the complete workforce of Haden India Pvt. Ltd. and its branches in Mumbai (Thane), Pune and Delhi. No information will be released regarding the purchase price. In the medium term it is planned to double Eisenmann’s staff in India to about 100. In addition to building systems locally for the Indian market, it will in particular perform engineering and purchasing tasks and undertake sales activities for the Eisenmann parent company in Germany.

Haden India’s portfolio is an almost perfect match for the products and services supplied by the new German parent company. In particular the Eisenmann General Finishing (painting systems for metal and plastics) and Automotive Systems (plant technology for the automobile industry) business units are well represented by the commitment undertaken so far and the new subsidiary’s customer list. These business units will therefore retain their independent character and integrate the appropriate Eisenmann technologies step by step into their portfolios. The staff includes a significant number of excellently trained engineers – an ideal precondition for the active exchange of technologies. Eisenmann India will also explore new national sales markets, in particular those in environmental engineering and the carbon fiber industry, for which the family-owned company can offer solutions that have proved their worth on many occasions all over the world.

This commitment in India is a further step in the German plant manufacturing company’s worldwide expansion strategy, which is focused in particular on the ‘BRIC’ nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China). Dr. Krauland explains: “It is important for us to be present on these growth markets, in which our customers themselves are increasingly active. If we operate effective facilities of our own, both we and they can profit from shorter logistic movements and purchasing benefits.” The company sees considerable market potential for its environmental technology solutions, especially in India and China in view of these countries’ high population density. Eisenmann is already present in Brazil, Russia and China, and plans to expand its branches there in the coming years.

Information on Haden India

The British Haden company can be regarded as one of the pioneers on this sector of the Indian market. Haden India Pvt. Ltd. can now look back on twenty years of business activity. In 2006 the parent company became insolvent, which led to the Indian Haden subsidiary being taken over by the US MacLellan company, which specializes in industrial maintenance. This ensured access to the industrial maintenance sector, established at Haden India. In order to concentrate fully on its core business area, MacLellan sold Haden India to Eisenmann in August 2010.
