Wienerberger Eisenberg now de-airing roof tiles with variable-speed Atlas Copco pump

New vacuum pump saves 70 % energy

Wienerberger produces clay roof tiles at their plant in Eisenberg, Rhenish Palatinate. Prior to shaping, the company de-airs the body with a variable-speed vacuum pump, type GHS 585 VSD+ by Atlas Copco, thus saving nearly 70 % on energy for that step of production.

At their plant in Eisenberg, Wienerberger produces all kinds of clay roof tiles, including small quantities of historical tiles like plains for the French market. Along with diverse uniques, such tiles are produced for certain sites on special order. However, the major share of the plant‘s overall output consists of standard-type pressed-clay roof tiles. At plant 3 in Eisenberg, they are produced in a wide variety of sizes, colours and finishes. That is where the new Atlas Copco rotary screw vacuum pump is now on duty, because that is where it achieves its best possible efficiency.
