Hans van Wijck – 25 years at TCKI/25 Jahre beim TCKI

On 1 May Hans van Wijck was able to look back on 25 years of working at the TCKI (Technical Centre Foundation for the Ceramic Industry) in the Netherlands, half of this time as its Director. In the presence of his wife Carla and his daughters Sanne and Maartje along with 150 guests, Hans van Wijck’s anniversary was celebrated on 29 April with a reception at the TCKI, at which his outstanding nature photographs were also exhibited.

Chairman of the Foundation G. J. den Daas called him a great initiator and administrator of numerous projects and the driving force behind the further expansion of the TCKI. Van Wijck is not only customer-oriented and always searching for facts, objectification and appropriate consultation – as a scientist, he never makes it easy for himself. Besides his profound ceramic knowledge, he has extensive interests in other areas. He not only demonstrates his boundless commitment at the TCKI, he is also a highly respected nature photographer. Hans Marks remarked that Hans van Wijck had married Carla exactly 23 years ago, which earned cheers from all those present. Nature is a source of inspiration for Hans, both in the philosophical and cosmic sense. In this connection, it is unimportant whether this inspiration comes from a wild landscape or one created by the ceramics industry. Besides his commitment to ceramics, Hans van Wijck is involved with nature experiences, trips, and courses and goes on nature trips together with his wife. But it is always a question of how far they manage to get, because he always sees and stops to photograph something beautiful. Hans van Wijck is in close touch with nature, he has a natural force and is a nature lover, researcher, talent, photographer, and of course he is also naturally nice.

Hans van Wijck thanked his guests for coming, but also the management and employees at the TCKI, who have enabled and supported him in his work in the last 25 years. As recognition of the support and the great patience on the home front, Carla, Sanne and Maartje were asked to open the exhibition of his photos. His photos can be viewed at www.hansvanwijck.nl.
