Standardisation and requirements for quality management and external monitoring
Both the Construction Products Regulation and European and national standards impose requirements on brick manufacturers with regard to their production and quality assurance processes. The application of these regulations results in obligations and tasks for quality management and factory production control for the various product groups. The implementation of these requirements is a prerequisite for a legally compliant product declaration. External monitoring and certification can either be based on legally prescribed requirements for European declarations and CE marking, or they can be carried out on a voluntary basis. External monitoring and labelling of nationally regulated products is also based on the requirements of the standards or can be carried out under private law. This article from the Würzburg Brick Course provides information on when which regulations apply.
