Challenge of clay brick recycling

Resource efficiency, recycling, and closing of material cycles – these new challenges will be faced by the clay brick and tile industry in the forthcoming years.
In past months, European institutions have published several documents on this topic, primarily the “The Roadmap to a Resource-Efficient Europe”, which includes the following statements: “By 2020 the renovation and construction of buildings and infrastructure will be made to high resource efficiency levels. 70% of non-hazardous construction and demolition waste will be recycled”.
