Successful industry get-together between pandemic and gas shortage
Despite difficult circumstances, the return of the leading international trade fair for the ceramics industry was, according to the organisers, a complete success. A total of 356 exhibitors from 34 countries - 63 percent of them from abroad - formed the core of the industry meeting. Despite the continuing restrictions on travel from the Asian region as well as the current geopolitical uncertainties, around 10,000 visitors from 84 countries, which corresponds to a share of 58 percent of the total number of visitors, came to the Munich exhibition halls.
Exhibitors and organisers satisfied
Despite lower visitor and exhibitor numbers than in 2018, both the organisers and the exhibitors are very satisfied with the fair. “Of course, we have a decline in visitors overall, but we had a disproportionately high number of concrete enquiries with short-term investment needs from all over the world. Therefore, ceramitec 2022 is already a great success for us,” says Dr. Jürgen Bum, Chairman of the Advisory Board of ceramitec.
Many exhibitors and visitors were pleased to be able to enter into personal and spontaneous exchange again. There were plenty of topics for this, such as climate neutrality, resource and energy efficiency. Karl Liedel, authorised signatory at Lingl Anlagenbau, explains: “Our expectations of ceramitec 2022 were more than fulfilled. Many familiar faces came to our stand, but we were also able to make numerous new contacts. Right now it is essential to talk about the topic of decarbonisation and to provide customers with assistance in saving energy. This requires platforms like ceramitec, where experts come together to exchange ideas. This is not least confirmed by our participation in ceramitec. Personal contacts are more important than ever.”
Conference programme on current topics and challenges
The interest in these topics was also reflected in the fact that the conference programme at ceramitec was very popular with the trade audience. In addition to technical innovations in the manufacture and application of ceramic products, the adaptation of the ceramics industries to climate change and the reduction of CO2 emissions were the focus of interest.
Regular continuation
The date for the next ceramitec in Munich has already been set: 23 to 26 April 2024.
