Welcome to the Clemson Brick Forum!

This year’s 64th Brick Forum will again focus on the fundamentals and innovations of making clay brick.

The opening session of the Forum which will be held in Anderson, South Carolina from October 1 to 3, will focus on fundamentals of brickmaking and will be an excellent learning opportunity for employees of all levels of experience. Presentations will include best practices for quality control, improving raw materials and fired properties, as well as colour and kiln fundamentals. Providing these “back to basics” presentations has always been part of the Forum’s mission.

The remainder of the technical programme will, as in the last few years, consist of manufacturing, wall system, and environmental health and safety presentations. Presentations on some innovative production and decorating techniques will be featured. For wall systems, presentations on thermal performance based on research conducted at the National Brick Research Center programme as well as key challenges will be given. The focus of this session will be to provide information that can be used to sell more brick. Finally, the environmental health and safety session will provide valuable information about the silica rule, best practices for measuring emissions, and MACT. We believe that this year’s choice will offer something valuable for everyone.

On Tuesday afternoon we will again open the vendor hospitality area and a full programme of vendor presentations will be offered. Participants will be able to pick and choose which presentations they are interested in attending. The vendor programme will be published closer to the Forum. The steak cookout will follow the vendor programs in the evening on Tuesday. We hope that this provides a more relaxed setting for fellowship and learning. Finally, the sponsors of the Forum will once again host an excellent hospitality programme in the evenings.

We hope that you can join us at the Clemson Brick Forum. For more information about registration, please visit //www.brickandtile.org/forum" target="_blank" >www.brickandtile.org/forum:www.brickandtile.org/forum. It should be easier than ever before to register multiple people at one time. The improved registration system will allow one person to be an administrator and sign up other registrants in addition to themselves all at once.
