Duravit places first order with Lingl

Duravit AG, based in Hornberg in the Black Forest, produces equipment for bathrooms that meet the highest quality standards all over the world. Ceramic sanitaryware is one of the company’s main business segments. Employing almost 5 700 people throughout the world, the company not only produces sanitaryware at 11 sites, but also complete bathrooms and wellness facilities. Lingl has been recently entrusted with the installation of a new continuous dryer for the production of sanitaryware at the central manufacturing site in Meissen.
Extensive analyses regarding process engineering and tests for the optimal drying of sanitaryware preceded this order. Thanks to its expertise in process engineering, Lingl succeeded in convincing this demanding customer.
The new continuous dryer will be constructed by Lingl within a very short time frame between the existing buffer stocks. In this context, innovative and optimized high bay warehouse logistics will also be delivered by Lingl and a great part of the existing control system will be replaced and modernized. The plant will be put into operation in late summer 2014, just in time for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Duravit Meissen.
Innovative solutions with regard to process engineering and materials handling for the production of sanitaryware constitute a new strategic business segment of Lingl, the partner for the ceramic industry.
