Succession plan: Heiner Nelskamp hands over management to two experienced leaders

According to a press release from May 2024, Heiner Nelskamp (71) has decided to take his well-deserved retirement after four decades at the helm of Dachziegelwerke Nelskamp. At the beginning of June 2024, Heiner Nelskamp will hand over his management responsibilities to Dr. Klaus Flacke (47) and Michael Specht (61) - two highly experienced managers. In recent years, they have successfully managed well-known medium-sized companies from various sectors. From their many assignments, they bring with them a wealth of experience and fresh ideas that will enable the long-established family business to develop further in the face of the various economic challenges.

"After half an eternity in management responsibility and with all my passion, I am taking this step in a well-considered manner and out of a commitment to the future of our company. I am certain that the change in management will open up new opportunities for us," says Heiner Nelskamp.

He is also convinced that the new constellation will ensure the continuous development of the company while maintaining Nelskamp's values, as the new managing directors also have a great deal of experience in managing family businesses.

However, it is essential that Nelskamp embraces new ideas. "Despite all the consistency, it is necessary and important to be open to change in the current very challenging times. I have full confidence in the new management team to successfully tackle the necessary adjustments with an eye for our values. I am confident that a combination of continuity and progress will help us to continue to be successful and meet the needs of our customers worldwide," explains Heiner Nelskamp.

At the express wish of the new management, Heiner Nelskamp will continue to support Dachziegelwerke in an advisory capacity and contribute his expertise to ensure a smooth handover. "Heiner Nelskamp knows the company like no other. We are extremely grateful that he will continue to be available to us for some time to come with his many years of experience and enormous knowledge," says Dr. Klaus Flacke, who has been familiarizing himself with Dachziegelwerke Nelskamp and its organization together with his fellow Managing Director for several months now. "The company has a great team. We look forward to continuing the successful work at all locations in the interests of everyone involved," adds Michael Specht, who will be responsible for sales in the management team.

In future, the new management will also be supported by a three-member advisory board, which has been agreed by the company's shareholders.
