This year’s Clemson Brick Forum is taking place from 1 to 3 October, to be held again at the Anderson Civic Center in Anderson, SC.
Hosted by the National Brick Research Center (NBRC), the Forum continues to be a place for sharing information and ideas throughout the brick industry. Brick companies and suppliers come together to discuss individual problems they have experienced and share their solutions.
The technical programme is growing and changing to meet the needs of the industry. The Forum will continue to have sessions for people at every stage of their career in the brick industry. The preliminary program will be published in the July 2018 Brickyardmagazine, a publication of the National Brick Research Center. In addition to the “back to the basics” theme, there will be presentations on the latest technology to produce brick slips, as well as the latest information on technological innovations and environmental regulations.
For the second year in a row, the Forum will be including seminars provided by sponsors on Tuesday afternoon. It was new last year and was well-received by both attendees and sponsors. Attendees have the option to pick the topics they are most interested in learning about, and only attend those seminars. It is also a way for sponsors to educate attendees about their capabilities outside of the technical programme, so it can be more tailored to their specialties.
Following the educational talks on Monday and Tuesday, the forum will feature hospitality from 5.00 to 9.00 pm both evenings. Tuesday night boasts the annual Steak Cookout. A reception will be provided by J.C. Steele & Sons while attendees line up for this one-of-a-kind event. Everyone is invited to stand around the extra-large charcoal grills, as there will be ample opportunity for informal talks that can be later continued in the hospitality area.
