PhoenixTM GmbH presents its temperature measurement systems at Ceramitec

PhoenixTM GmbH will be exhibiting at the upcoming Ceramitec trade fair in Munich, Germany. In addition to its proven TS05 series temperature measurement systems for tunnel and roller hearth kilns, PhoenixTM is constantly expanding its product range and services. The new premises in Löhne, Germany, are home to the sales team and a DAkkS-accredited laboratory, which offers short turnaround times and fast service.

The temperature measurement systems consist of a data logger that not only measures the temperature in the kiln but also records the push rates of the kiln cars, a thermal barrier specially developed for the ceramics industry, thermocouples, and intuitive evaluation software. Attached underneath the kiln car, they travel through the tunnel kiln and withstand the temperatures over the entire duration of up to several days. The thermal barriers use water evaporation technology to keep the data logger cool and protect it from mechanical damage and the dusty environment of a ceramic kiln. The measuring car only needs to be equipped with a holder for the barrier and feedthroughs for the measuring probes. The TS05 barriers are equipped with detachable connection boxes that can be mounted remotely from the thermal barrier. This allows easy thermocouple fitting and the length of the probes can be reduced.

The data logger can measure both the product and air temperature on up to 20 channels. The integrated motion sensor displays the kiln car movements, and both are read out using the ThermalView evaluation software and converted into meaningful quality assurance reports. The software not only allows graphical analysis of the firing curve and division of the kiln into different zones (preheating, burner zone, cooling phases), but also further evaluations, such as the time above a certain temperature, or average and peak gradients.

The optional radio telemetry transmits the temperature data in real time to the user’s PC. Even with very long kilns, radio transmission can be guaranteed by using several repeaters. In the event of a brief interruption of the signal, the data that was not received is automatically resent.

In roller hearth kiln, the system is guided directly through the firing zone, together with the product and individually adapted to the respective furnace and the prevailing temperatures.

We look forward to seeing you there!
