Rationalizing the construction of facing shells with regard to new anchoring methods and production techniques

R.O. No.:    AiF 14118 N
Research institute: Institut für Ziegelforschung Essen e.V. Project director: Dr.-Ing. Michael Roßbach

1 Problem definition
The method of adhering facing shells in the thin-bed or adhesion process is already applied in the Benelux countries. Advantages such as a reduction of building costs due to shorter construction periods and improved application engineering prerequisites are the reason for this method. Because of these improved application engineering benefits the “adhered” facing shells as a rule are anchored only in linear form at the height of the storey floor; an area anchorage is dispensed with.
