MosBuild 2009: Russia’s leading building show set for further growth
MosBuild, Russia’s biggest building and interiors show, will be held for the 15th time in Moscow from 31 March to 3 April 2009. To accommodate the size of the show, it will be staged at the two biggest exhibition venues – Expocentr and Crocus Expo.
MosBuild is one of the most important annual B2B platforms for suppliers and professionals in the building and interiors industry in Russia. Following a record-breaking event in spring 2008, it continues to register tremendous growth. At MosBuild 2008 the number of exhibiting companies rose to 2751; these presented their products and services on more than 90500 m2 exhibition space. Around 80100 visitors attended the Moscow show over the four days, the percentage of trade visitors at 97% being even higher than in previous years. There were official country stands representing 18 nations.
Having been still under construction in the previous year, the new, much bigger Pavilion 3 at the Crocus Expo Centre could be used for the 2008 event. The larger exhibition area enabled the organizers to include new exhibitor groups and meet the requests of many exhibitors for larger stands. It also allowed a clearer arrangement of the array of products and services at the trade show as well as the further expansion of the individual sectors. The event now comprises 25 sectors, covering all branches of the industry. Particularly interesting for the ceramics industry is the Expocentr as this is the venue for “Buildex” with Building Automation Systems, Building Materials & Equipment, Build Electro, Hardware & Tools, Plumbing & HeatVent as well as “Cersanex” with Bathrooms, Ceramica and Technoceramica.
