New subsidiary in Algeria officially launched

Ceric Technologies El Djazaϊr

Ceric, one of the world’s leading machine and plant engineering companies supplying the heavy clay industry, has consolidated its historical presence in Algeria by officially launching its new subsidiary in Algeria.

70 of the almost 500 facilities built by Ceric around the world are located in Algeria and produce about 60% of the national output of clay building materials. Every day, around 5 mill. clay bricks and roofing tiles are used in building the Algeria of the future. In the period between 2014 and 2016, at least eight new production lines are set to be installed.

Ceric is proud of its continuous presence on Algerian soil, at close hand for its clients, for 43 years – even in the difficult times in the 1990s. Solidarity and loyalty are values and principles of the plant engineering company founded by the two engineers Michel Rasse and Jean Merienne at the end of the 1950s. In Algeria, Ceric stands for its prestigious brands, especially the Pelerin trademark, regarded as the “Rolls-Royce” in the industry, but also for its new strategy in both production and service, customer proximity, quality and fair prices are the keywords. The customers are at the centre of its production activities and development programmes, starting from the R&D upstream to the value-added services downstream. So, through this subsidiary, Ceric proposes to become a close partner for the Algerian actors in the construction industry and to write a new chapter in the history of the clay products industry.

At the same time, it intends to pay tribute to all the clients who allow it to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leaders. Thanks to them, Ceric has been able to anticipate market trends and requirements and improve its innovation processes in the industry, especially in respect of the diversity of clay as a raw material.

Ceric is integrating its positioning and its approach in Algeria into the new dynamics of reshaping of economic ties and strategic links between France and Algeria. Ceric appears on the list of SMEs that benefit from the support of national authorities of both countries.

In the future, Ceric is offering its present and future clients a very complete package of services in Algeria, most of them billable in Algerian dinar:

› Sale of spare and wear parts
› Preventive and curative maintenance
› Repair and replacement of equipment
› Technical audit and installation diagnostic
› Guidance: increase in the production capacity, enhanced installation performance, improvement of quality, energy saving, safety of persons and property, environmental protection, etc.
› Operational aid and assistance in continuity of services
› Training and skills development

Very shortly, Ceric will launch the local manufacture of the metallic parts which, up to now, were the responsibility of the customer. This production will bring them a guarantee of compliance with Ceric technical specifications. It will relieve the clients’ workload, allowing them to concentrate on market development and their own sales.

Progressively, this offer will be expanded from Algeria and will target the greater Euro-Mediterranean, African and Middle-East region. That way, Ceric will create numerous direct and indirect jobs in Algeria and will enhance the national export capacity to nearby markets.
