Freymatic hands over multiwire cutter to OOO LSR Stenowie-M
The Swiss-based company Freymatic AG, widely known in the branch for its high-quality and innovative products for the clay brick and tile industry, has successfully commissioned a new multiwire cutter with 4-sided chamfering at OOO LSR Stenowie-M, Pavlovsky Posad.
LSR, one of the biggest brick manufacturers in Russia, owns four brickworks in the Leningrad and Moscow regions: LSR uses state-of-the-art equipment to manufacture a wide range of products with a capacity up to 445 mill. clay bricks per year. With the investment in a Freymatic Multicut, LSR is again placing its trust in the high quality of the products and service offered by the Swiss company. The key feature of its machines and equipment are the low operating and maintenance costs, which has a positive effect on the overall costs.
The project was processed in a very short time: from LSR’s first enquiry to the successful acceptance of the cutter were just eight months, the installation/commissioning on site took just seven working days.
The assignment was not an easy one: the inline cutter in a production line supplied in 2007 by a competitor was to be replaced with a Freymatic Multicut MC 2300-V. This is equipped with the proven technology for 4-sided chamfering of facing bricks. The slight chamfering at the edges of the top stretcher and the two header sides avoid chipping, and the widely feared “elephant feet”.
With the acceptance of the new cutter, all contractually agreed data for the machine performance were achieved. With the cutter, facing bricks in the formats 1 NF and 1.4 NF as well as Euroformat 0.7 NF are produced, with a maximum output of 15 500 NF/h and in first-class quality.
