Natural red facing clinkers for new Czech Technical University building

For the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), the construction of a new building is the largest building investment in the last 35 years in science, research and teaching. Building took 18 months and was financed from the CTU’s own funds and government subsidies. The architectural design of the new building was chosen in a competition of 35 teams by a committee consisting of prominent architects. Lecture theatres, class and seminar rooms as well as an underground car park with 316 parking spaces of the completed department are available to the students.

The Czech firm of architects Šrámková architekti were responsible for the design of the façade. Under the direction of the famous architect Alena Šrámková, natural red facing bricks were chosen for the exterior façade.
