Verdés Magna series of extruders highly successful on the market
Verdés launched a new series of extruders, the Magna series, around four years ago.
This series soon became a success, with the first units being installed already in 2014. For several years, besides the new series, the predecessor models of Combi-070 and Monobloc-060 series continued to be built. Many customers were very happy with that, and still in 2015 and 2016 they were asking Verdés to manufacture twin machines for their parallel lines and extensions.
In the first years the Maghreb markets were pretty active, so over a dozen Magna extruders were sold there, mostly in Algeria, but also in Libya and Morocco. In 2019, too, a few more machines will be delivered to Algeria. The machine is also proving popular in the Middle East, with units being supplied to Iran, Iraq and Yemen.
The European countries in recent years have been pretty much replacement part markets, that is when lines have not been shut down and machines relocated. However, a few units have been installed in Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Belarus.
The Far East is not an area with significant imports for the brick sector, nevertheless three units were commissioned in Malaysia in 2018, for long-standing Verdés customers.
In Central Asia, on the other hand, all the customers receiving their Magna extruders have been new ones, as this area was previously much underdeveloped in the brick sector. So far, the leading brickmakers have acquired Magna machines in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Of course, it is expected that other countries in the region will follow suit, once they decide to upgrade their brick plants.
The best-selling model has been the Magna 675, followed closely by the bigger Magna 775 and then Magnabloc 575. The Magna 475 has been delivered to some smaller brick units or for special products. All in all, some 35 units have been sold up to date.
