Secondary raw materials from large-scale construction projects for the brick industry
Large-scale construction projects generate millions of tonnes of mineral residues every year. These materials offer considerable potential as secondary raw materials for the brick industry. In addition to the ecological advantages, there may also be economic savings. However, practical implementation is associated with challenges: approval procedures, legal uncertainties and quality requirements are complex. In addition, traditional disposal methods are often more cost-effective, as tenders often focus exclusively on price and neglect sustainability aspects.
In several projects, we have successfully converted mineral waste into usable secondary raw materials and fed it into brick production – in compliance with all legal and technical standards. The presentation uses concrete examples to show how interdisciplinary cooperation, early planning and targeted communication with authorities can lead to economically and ecologically sensible solutions. The aim is to work with the industry to break new ground and exploit the existing potential.
