Welcome to the 71th Clemson Brick Forum 2025
The 71st Clemson Brick Plant Operator’s Forum will take place in Anderson, South Carolina, USA, September 29 - 30. The Forum is a time for the Brick Industry to come together to share information and learn from each other. In this way, scientific knowledge and brick making experience is passed from older generations to younger people entering the industry.
This event is made possible through the generous support of our sponsoring suppliers. Proceeds from the Forum directly fund the operation and enhancement of our Bishop Materials Laboratory at the National Brick Research Center. This support of our lab in turn supports the brick industry. For those of you not familiar with the National Brick Research Center, we are an Industry Sponsored Research Center within Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. Clemson University has a long-standing reputation of expertise in traditional ceramic products with a special emphasis on clay brick. This legacy dates back to the late 1940’s when Dr. Gilbert Robinson founded Clemson’s Department of Ceramic Engineering.
The Forum features two days of technical presentations that cover best practices, fundamentals of brick making, innovations, plant upgrades, wall systems, and environmental health and safety topics. The majority of the presentations are by fellow brick makers. Additionally, we host evening hospitality programs, providing a relaxed setting for manufacturers and suppliers to connect and discuss shared challenges. The Forum concludes with our annual steak cookout — a favorite among attendees. This year we will be debuting a new “Steak Kiln” designed and built by Direxa Engineering. We are very excited to add this innovation to our decades-long cookout traditions.
We are expecting to have a great meeting and hope that you can join us. For more information about the Forum or the Center, please visit our website at www.brickandtile.org.
Sincerely,
