DoPCAP – on-line database for de­clar­ations of performance in accordance with the EU Construction Products Regulation

By way of publication in the official journal of the European Union (L 52, volume 57) dated 21 February 2014, the European Union has established a legal basis and prescribed the conditions for making declarations of performance on construction products available on a website. Via Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) no. 157/2014 of 30 October 2013 on the conditions for making declarations of performance on construction products available on a website, the boundary conditions for the operation and use of such websites have been made known.

1 Introduction

From now on, producers of construction materials will be able to provide declarations of performance via a website instead of in printed form as in the past. As to be expected, the legislature did not alter the rights and obligations of the economic operators. Manufacturers now have the right to provide declarations of performance via their own websites. They must, however, ensure that such declarations of performance remain available and accessible at all times for at least ten years, as specified in the Construction Products Regulation.
