Pilatus makes special roller turning machine for Skoda plant in Prague
Besides supplying the production operations, the Sko-Energo power plant supplies the nearby town with water and power. The main components of the power plant are two fluidized bed boilers with a steam output up to 140 t/h.
A WM 1018M roller mill supplied by FAM Förderanlagen Magdeburg, Germany, is used for preparation of the lignite and coal. This crushes 120 to 150 t coal per hour. Pilatus Maschinenbau AG has supplied a turning machine for reconditioning the rollers. With the turning machine, the roller surfaces of the FAM roller mill can be turned with high precision. Two cylindrical rollers, arranged parallel, grind the coal to the required particle size and quality.
The roller turning machine was specially developed for machining this roller with a length of 2 m. For the supply of this machine, Pilatus Maschinenbau AG was selected on the basis of the company’s many years of experience in the development of special designs and the high quality standards of the long-established Swiss company.
