Sabo S.A. working successfully on the Latercer SAC project in Peru

Work on a modern, automated tunnel kiln for Latercer SAC, Lima, Peru, is progressing swiftly. The kiln designed for a production capacity of 500 t fired product per day is being built according to a demanding and strict working schedule. The project is very important for both companies. For Sabo S.A. it is the first tunnel kiln in the promising Peruvian market and for fast-growing brickmaker Latercer it is the very first tunnel kiln. Sabo’s supervising engineer and fitters are carrying out the work in close cooperation with Latercer’s engineers and local team of fitters.

Most of the structural work has been completed and the emphasis is now on the completion of the kiln. The internal and external walls are already in place and the suspended roof is currently being erected. Not only the quality of refractory materials is important, but also strict compliance with the design. Sabo attaches great importance to both factors. The refractory material for all parts of the kiln is supplied by Refratechnik, Germany. The company is paying great attention to the specified design dimensions and tolerances necessary for efficient, problem-free operation of the kiln as well as its long life. With the completion of the kiln, the project is ready to enter the next phase of installing the machines. The project is expected to start up in the second half of 2015.

Other projects in Latin America

Through its subsidiary Sabo Impianti in Brazil, Sabo has completed a successful project for Cerâmica Cevvap in União – Piaui, involving the installation of a modern robotized setting machine. In addition, two more projects for Incargel Indstria Cerâmica in Itu, São Paulo, have been completed, involving the supply of a setting machine with robot and automatic control for the tunnel kiln, automatic kiln car transfer and unloading machine with robot. A third project is also under construction for the customer Cerâmica Livramento in Timon, Maranhão.
