Schlagmann Poroton starts up new longitudinal souring plant for clay

With its new longitudinal souring plant, which plays a key part in the production process, Schlagmann Poroton is ensuring higher quality of the finished products. The company has invested € 2.6 mill. in a 4000-m³ clay longitudinal souring plant at the company headquarters in Zeilarn. The Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Joachim Herr-mann, together with members of the management as well as honorary guests from politics, officially started up the plant with the push of a button and was visibly impressed by the innovation of the medium-sized enterprise.

High quality standard

For the newly started up longitudinal clay souring plant, over the previous nine months a 55-m-long and up to 18-m-deep special facility had been erected. In four different material bays, the clays are stored protected from the weather. Along with the clay brick research and development centre that went into operation last year, the longitudinal souring plant is another step in the direction of the development and production of resource-saving and energy-efficient clay blocks of high quality.

At the following summer fete organized by the company and attended by employees and honorary guests, with the help of a tombola and the Schlagmann-Edmüller Foundation, € 7000 in donations were collected for unaccompanied refugee children.
