Zi field trip to clay backing brick plant wows students

For the third time, the trade journal Zi Brick and Tile Industry International arranged a field trip for students. More than 40 students, post-graduate students and their study supervisors learned about the theory and practice of manufacturing clay blocks at the Leipfinger Bader clay backing brick plant in Vatersdorf on 13 and 14 December 2016. The event was supported by several sponsors.

Following two visits to clay roofing tile plants, the destination of the Zi field trip in 2016 was a manufacturer of clay blocks, that is the Vatersdorf brick plant owned by Leipfinger Bader Ziegelwerke. Four industry partners sponsored the event, some of whom were taking part for the third time:

Grothe Rohstoffe GmbH & Co. KG, Bückeburg

Hans Lingl Anlagenbau und Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Krumbach

Opavsky Emailleschmelze & Glasurenfabrikation Josef Opavsky und Sohn, owned by Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Heinz Kropp GmbH, Vallendar

Refratechnik Ceramics GmbH, Melle
